It’s a great exhibit for a great cause. The 7th annual Doctors and Derrieres exhibition and silent auction will take place on April 27th from 7 – 11pm at Enterprise Square, 10230 – Jasper Ave, Edmonton, Alberta. This year the exhibit will feature over 35 local artists! The full exhibit runs from April 19 – 27th.
A bit about Doctors & Derrieres:
Doctors and Derrieres is a fundraising event co-founded in 2006 by Edmonton based artist and show curator Roger Garcia. The idea behind this fundraiser is to have medical students pose nude for talented local artists and sculptors. Art pieces in diverse mediums celebrating the human body are then donated by each artist to be sold at the main event each year to raise funds for an emergency health Project in El Salvador. All proceeds support Change for Children’s Emergency Social Health Fund. A community-led grassroots initiative in rural El Salvador that provides health care in underserved areas. Over the past 6 years, the event has raised over $50,000. Doctors and Derrieres is hosted by Roger Garcia and University of Alberta medical students in partnership with Change for Children Association and Christian Based Communities of El Salvador (CEB’S) with donated support from the Harcourt House.
