Japanese Modern
Audrey Kawasaki is an artist whose work I’ve been following for a long time, and so I keep her blog at the top of my rotation. She recently posted the work of Sayaka, and it took my breath away. Not ten minutes later, I stumbled on a post from BibliOdyssey showcasing a few examples of Ukioy-e and still breathless, spent some time marvelling at the amazing structure of early Japanese painting and how it blossoms in the work of today’s modern artists.
