Mayumi Oda
Flipping through an art prints and posters bin at a small boutique in Charleston SC over the weekend, I was taken by surprise when I flipped to two prints by Mayumi Oda. I gasped and the rest of the customers in the store looked at me sideways and gave me poo-poo looks. But it was well worth it. Oda’s work blew me away… It required that gasp…
Unfortunately, I don’t think the website does it justice… you miss the subtle overlapping of color and the imperfections and paper edges that make it so great. But the work is still beautiful…

We “discovered” Mayumi Oda in the same boutique. We just loved the print Lipo Kai. I haven’t been able to find a web picture of it yet. maybe her new site will have a complete catalog.
