Chip Kidd

Ever walk through the aisles of Barnes & Noble and just admire all the fantastic book covers that stare out at you? They pull you in and talk to you before you even crack open the book. And they make you question the statement: “You can’t judge a book by its cover”… because it seems like good cover design is key in getting you to even pick up that book in the first place.
Well, many of those great covers can be credited to one guy — Chip Kidd — who recently spoke at the 2007 HOW Conference in Atlanta. Kidd has designed over 800 book jackets, pairing great typography with found imagery, illustration and photography. The collection is so inspiring… just a flip through and ideas start tumbling.

You can pick up a copy of his book “Chip Kidd: Book One” here at amazon.
