Summer Movies VIII
Art School Confidential tries to be a comedy about art school and a murder mystery. the “confidential” portions are a flop but the “art school” parts are worth watching.

I saw this the other day and it simply reminded me of how much I didn’t learn in “art school”.

I heard the movie is the screen writer’s anti-Pratt manifesto as a former student there. Anyhow, I ‘enjoyed’ it from a future-art-student perspective. :))

I loathed this film. A horrid bitter cliche lacking any charm. Awful characters and a trite story but mainly just childish bitterness. Which is a shame cos I loved Ghost World . . .

I really enjoyed this movie. Yeah, it had some flaws, but it poked good fun at some of the kooky students and pathetically self-absorbed instructors that mirrored some of what i experienced in the art department at my college. Some of it was so dead on, it was scary. Good stuff.
