An Action-Adventure Fairy Tale
if you have any reluctance to see the new hellboy movie, hellboy II: the golden army, zip over to the cinema right now! what i thought would be a silly beat up the monsters movie was actually an endearing, beautifully imagined fairy tale with puppets, tooth fairies, trolls under bridges, a magic bean and a giant beanstalk, all woven onto a pop culture rollarcoaster. not at all the GUILTY pleasure that i thought it would be.

I know, wasn’t it AWESOME!?! We went last Friday when it opened and would have gone again the very next day if time permitted. *Loved* the puppet sequence, really amazing.
I have to say though, and I don’t think this is giving anything away, I didn’t like the portrayal of adolescent HB. I think they could have done a better job with that. But it’s so minor, who cares, right? :-) Can’t wait for HB3!
