I don’t use the word “virtuoso” lightly but, after browsing the Flickr portfolios of N.C. Mallory, no other word seems adequate. Mr. Mallory is a painter, illustrator, writer, and teacher. His work spans the gamut from landscapes to portraiture, inks to oils, academic to experimental. All of it is executed with courageous excellence. My personal favorites are his self-portraits (seen here) but his collection of samples is equally jaw-dropping.
