Topic: How much do illustrators make for first book?

Hi. 
I don't know how much money I should be expecting, to illustrate my first children's book.  The author is self-publishing his book, and he wants me to illustrate it (we met through a website).  It will be 32 pages, one illustration per page.  If you've illustrated a book or know how much money an illustrator is supposed to make for their first book, any information/advice would be much appreciated!

The numbers are based mainly on the UK market (not sure where you are?) and getting a bit old now, but it might give you an idea at least.
